Common Problems with the Hisense Portable Air Conditioner
#1 Not Turning On

- The drain line of your portable AC may also be clogged with dirt and debris, which can cause water and condensation to go back inside your unit. Use a wet/dry vacuum to remove anything that may be clogging the drain line before pouring some soapy water down the line to dislodge any remaining debris.
#3 Remote isn’t Working
It can be difficult to customize the settings of your portable AC easily and conveniently without the help of your unit’s remote control. Here are some possible reasons why the remote may not be working:
- The battery of your remote control may be running low, which will cause the control board to lose its connection with your unit.
- The remote may not be in the proper range to communicate with the AC. When using the remote, make sure that it’s pointing directly towards your unit for the best connectivity. The signal may be interrupted if there are any obstructions standing in the way.
- Your remote might be covered in dust and dirt. Wipe down your remote control with a dampened microfiber cloth to remove any impurities or contaminants that may be interfering.
#4 Front Display Screen isn’t Working
You might have a hard time figuring out which settings your portable air conditioner is on if the front display screen isn’t working. Here are some possible reasons why this may be happening:
- The LED screen of your unit is simply dimmed, so make sure to check the brightness settings with your remote.
- The screen of your unit may be on screensaver mode and will light up once you change a setting on your portable AC.
- The screen may be experiencing a technical issue that may be resolved by resetting your portable air conditioner.
#5 Compressor isn’t Working
If your Hisense portable air conditioner’s compressor isn’t working, this may be caused by a few things:

- Contaminants in the system may also be interfering with your compressor. Have your portable air conditioner deep cleaned regularly by booking an appointment with an aircon servicing and maintenance company.
#6 Not Draining
Your portable air conditioner naturally produces condensation as it goes through the cooling process, but improper draining may result in reduced cooling performance, water leaks, and other problems. Here are some of the reasons why your Hisense portable AC may not be draining properly:
- The drain line may be clogged, which prevents the water from flowing easily. To unclog the drain line, remove any loose bits with a wet/dry vacuum before flushing it out with some soapy water. Feel free to also use a long and flexible brush or pipe cleaner to really get in there if needed.
- If your portable air conditioner has a drain pan instead, then it might be time to empty it. While you’re at it, check the drain pan for any stains or damage. If you see any stains or buildup, then simply use a brush and some soapy water to scrub it off.
#7 Freezing Up
If you’ve noticed some ice forming inside your portable air conditioner, it can be caused by a few things:
- A dirty air filter prevents the proper circulation of air, which can cause various parts of your portable AC to freeze up. Make sure that you check your air filter regularly and clean it when needed with a brush and some soapy water.
- Dirty coils could also be the reason behind the ice inside your portable AC. When the coils are covered in dust and dirt, they can freeze. To clean your coils, vacuum away any loose particles before spraying it with a soapy water-cleaning solution. After 5 to 10 minutes, use a soft brush to gently remove any debris before rinsing it and leaving it to dry.
How to Reset Your Hisense Portable Air Conditioner
Restarting your Hisense portable air conditioner may help fix most of the common issues you may encounter while using your unit. Here’s how you can do it:
- Power the unit off and unplug the power cord from its socket.

How to Change Temperature Unit Hisense Portable Air Conditioner
If you want to change your Hisense portable air conditioner’s temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit or vice versa, then follow these steps:
